Santa Maria, California (January 20, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Saturday evening in Santa Maria, according to a local news source.

The major injury accident happened at about 6:20 p.m. Saturday, January 16, on Blosser Road, just north of the Cook Street intersection.

Authorities said the pedestrian was crossing Blosser Road when they were hit by a vehicle.

The pedestrian sustained major injuries and was transported to a hospital. The name and condition of the victim were not immediately disclosed.

The involved driver did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the scene. The suspect’s vehicle, described as a dark color, older model sedan, was last seen heading eastbound onto Boone Street.

The vehicle has damage to the front bumper and a broken front light.

Police are still searching for the hit-and-run driver.
