Santa Maria, California (January 5, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and injured by a vehicle in Santa Maria on Friday evening, according to the Santa Maria Police Department.

The crash took place at about 6:20 p.m. January 4 at E Newlove Drive and South Broadway.

It’s unclear whether the pedestrian was walking along or trying to cross the street when they were hit.

Police said the victim was transported to hospital and is expected to survive.

The identities of the parties involved were not immediately released.

The Santa Maria police are investigating the incident.
