Santa Margarita, California (June 12, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of a major injury crash that occurred in Santa Margarita Friday evening.

The collision involving a white Jeep and a black Toyota 4Runner occurred on Highway 58, just east of Parkhill Road, at approximately 5:55 p.m.

It was not immediately established how the collision happened on the westbound side of the roadway.

Due to the impact, the Toyota 4Runner overturned onto its side.

Major Injury Santa Margarita Crash

All involved parties, including two children, were attended to by medical personnel who arrived at the scene shortly after the collision.

Officials affirmed one unidentified victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of major injuries sustained in the crash.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
