Pilot Killed in Santa Clarita Crash near 14 Freeway
Santa Clarita, California (January 5, 2020) – One person was killed when a plane crashed in Santa Clarita Saturday morning, according to the authorities.
The wreck was reported just before 10:15 a.m. January 4, on the off-ramp of Newhall Avenue from the 14 Freeway.
Authorities said a home-built TM-1 Thunder Mustang small plane went down and clipped a tree, before crashing near the freeway. The plane then erupted in flames following the crash.
Pilot Dies in Santa Clarita Plane Crash
The pilot, who was the sole occupant, died in the crash. The name of the pilot was not immediately released.
The FAA and the NTSB are investigating the crash.
