Bicyclist Hospitalized after Santa Barbara Crash on Highway 192 near Cheltenham Road
Santa Barbara, California (March 31, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Tuesday afternoon hit-and-run accident that left a bicyclist injured in Santa Barbara.
The bicycle accident occurred just before 3:00 p.m., on March 30, near the intersection of Cheltenham Road and Highway 192.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle collided with a bicycle on the roadway in unclear circumstances.
The cyclist suffered injuries to their abdomen and torso in the accident and was hospitalized for treatment.
The involved driver fled the scene and is being sought by the police. The vehicle, described as a green pickup truck, was last seen driving northbound on Cheltenham Road.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
