Santa Barbara, California (August 5, 2019) – Two people were injured in ambulance collision involving a vehicle and a deer on Sunday night in Santa Barbara, according to a local news source.

The crash was reported just before 8:30 p.m. August 4, in the 1500 block of Highway 154.

According to the news source, a deer jumped in front of a vehicle traveling on the highway, causing its driver to swerve to avoid it. The driver then stopped the car on the highway and was struck by an oncoming AMR ambulance shortly after.

Two people sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. One of the victims was taken to Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital.

Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to be factors in the crash.
