71-Year-Old Man Killed, Vivian Lugo Arrested after Sanger Pedestrian Crash on Academy Avenue and Eighth Street

Sanger, California (February 23, 2020) – An elderly man was killed in an auto-pedestrian accident involving a suspected DUI driver on Friday night in Sanger, according to a local news source.
The incident took place at about 9:30 p.m. February 21, on 8th Street and Academy Avenue.
According to the news source, a 71-year-old man was attempting to cross the road when a vehicle struck him.
The victim was transported to the Community Regional Healthcare Center, where he was pronounced deceased. His name was not immediately released.
Vivian Lugo Arrested after Fatal Sanger Pedestrian Crash
The driver who hit the pedestrian, identified as Vivian Lugo, 44, was found to have been under the influence. She was taken into custody and booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
The crash is under investigation.
