San Mateo, California (June 1, 2019) – At least one person was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle crash Friday night in the area of San Mateo, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at around 8:10 p.m. Friday, May 31, on northbound Highway 101 at Peninsula Avenue.

As per the CHP officials, three vehicles crashed for reasons still under investigation.

An ambulance was sent to the scene to attend to the crash victims. One person complained of pain to their leg and was transported to the hospital for further treatment.

The name of the patient and their current condition was not immediately known.

Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the crash site.

The vehicles were blocking the lanes following the crash. The roadway was opened as of 8:48 p.m.

No additional details regarding this collision were provided.

An investigation is ongoing.
