2 Adults, 4 Children Injured in San Luis Obispo County Accident on Highway 166 near Gifford Rancho Road

San Luis Obispo County, California (December 12, 2020) – Six people were injured Saturday afternoon in a single-vehicle traffic accident in San Luis Obispo County, according to a local news source.
The crash happened just after 2:00 p.m. on Highway 166 near Gifford Rancho Road.
As per the report, a white minivan was trying to overtake another vehicle when that driver also attempted to pass the car in front of them.
For undetermined reasons, the minivan veered off the roadway and crashed down a cliff 50 feet into the riverbed.

Authorities said two adults and four children were in the minivan. Two of them sustained major injuries, one had moderate injuries, and three suffered minor injuries.
As per the report, one of the six patients was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment. The names and conditions of the victims were not immediately disclosed.
The accident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
