San Jose, CA: Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Train at Bascom Station

San Jose, California (October 15, 2019) – A man was struck and killed by a light-rail train along Southwest Expressway in San Jose Tuesday afternoon, according to authorities.

At around 3:20 p.m., the authorities received a report about a person hit by the train at the Bascom Station in the 2051 block of Southwest Expressway.

According to the authorities, the man was hit by a Winchester-Mountain View train that was traveling northbound.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and rendered aid to the victim. The patient was then rushed to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

The crash remains under investigation.
