Woman Killed, 5 People Injured in Deadly Head-on Crash in Rural Tulare County
Visalia, California (October 15, 2018) – One person was killed and five others injured Tuesday evening following a head-on crash involving two vehicles on Highway 216 in Visalia, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The deadly accident took place at about 6:02 p.m. today on CA-216, just south of Avenue 320 near Ivanhoe.
According to the CHP, an 18-year-old male was driving northbound on Highway 216 near Ivanhoe when he tried to pass another vehicle and ended up colliding head on with a car carrying two women. One of the women, who was a passenger, died at the scene. The driver, a 24-year-old woman, sustained major injuries and was transported to the hospital.
The 18-year-old man also suffered major injuries and rushed to the hospital. Three other people who were with him in the car were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The crash is under investigation.
