San Jose, California (March 22, 2021) – One person was killed Sunday morning in a traffic accident involving a wrong-way driver in San Jose, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The deadly crash happened at about 8:00 a.m. Sunday, March 21, in the southbound lanes of Highway 85 near the De Anza Boulevard exit.

Reportedly, a vehicle was heading northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 85 when it was involved in a crash with two other cars.

Two of the involved vehicles were described as a taxi van and a Tesla.

One person died in the accident. The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of their next of kin.

Further details regarding the collision were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
