61-Year-Old Hollister Woman Killed in San Jose Car Accident on Highway 85 near Union Avenue
San Jose, California (June 16, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a Monday night four-car crash that killed a woman in San Jose.
The crash happened at about 11:36 p.m., on June 15, on Highway 85, south of Union Avenue.
As per the CHP, a 2020 BMW M8, driven by Svyatoslav Solovyev, 33, of Cupertino, was heading southbound on the highway at a high rate of speed when, for unknown reasons, it made an unsafe turn and collided with a 2006 Subaru.
The BMW then crashed into a 2016 Hyundai Accent, operated by a 61-year-old Hollister woman, and the Hyundai smashed into a 2007 Toyota Camry, the police said.
Fatal DUI Crash on Highway 85 in San Jose
Following the accident, the Hollister woman was rushed to Valley Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Solovyev was unhurt in the crash and was for felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter charges.
The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact the San Jose Area CHP Office.
