San Joaquin County, California (December 8, 2019) – Two men were killed in a head-on collision that occurred on Sunday morning in San Joaquin County, according to the CHP.

The wreck happened at about 4:30 a.m. on Highway 12 west of Guard Road.

According to the report, a red Altima drifted across the double yellow lines and collided head-on with an oncoming gray Sentra.

Both drivers died in the crash.

CHP said alcohol and/or drugs were suspected to be a factor in the collusion.

Highway 12 was shut down as crews examined and cleared the scene.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
