35-Year-Old Man Killed in San Diego Pedestrian Accident on Highway 94 near Kelton Road
San Diego, California (July 27, 2020) – A 35-year-old transient man was hit and killed by a vehicle early Sunday morning in San Diego, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office.
The deadly pedestrian crash happened at around 12:05 a.m. Sunday, July 26 on Highway 94, just west of Kelton Road.
Authorities said the man was walking on the shoulder of westbound Highway 94 when he stepped into the southbound lanes and was hit by a vehicle.
Pedestrian Dies after Being Struck by Vehicle on Highway 99 in San Diego
The man was declared dead at the scene. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Following the mishap, westbound lanes of the highway were closed for about an hour.
The crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
