55-Year-Old Woman Hospitalized after San Diego Pedestrian Accident at Mira Mesa Boulevard and Black Mountain Road
San Diego, California (January 8, 2019) – A pedestrian was hospitalized early Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle at a San Diego intersection, according to police.
The accident, which was reported just after 5:00 a.m., happened at the intersection of Mira Mesa Boulevard and Black Mountain Road.
Police said the pedestrian, a 55-year-old woman, was reportedly in the crosswalk walking against a red traffic light when a red sedan allegedly traveling between 50-60 mph struck her. According to the officials, the posted speed limit is just 40 mph.
The officers responded to the scene and found the unconscious woman in the roadway. The victim was then transported to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries. Her name and condition at this time remained unknown.
The driver of the red sedan remained at the scene and complied with investigators.
