San Diego, California (February 16, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Monday night in the Jamacha-Lomita neighborhood in San Diego, according to a local news source.

The accident happened at around 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 15, at the intersection of Jamacha Road and Cardiff Street, just west of state Route 125.

Authorities said a red Ford Expedition hit a man at the intersection for an unknown reason.

The pedestrian was transported to a hospital with major injuries. His name and current condition remained undisclosed.

The Ford driver did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the scene, heading westbound on nearby Carlisle Drive. There was no description of the driver.

Police are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect.

The accident remains under investigation. Anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts is urged to call the authorities.
