Man Killed in Riverside Hit-and-Run Accident at Jurupa Avenue and Essex Street
Riverside, California (February 16, 2021) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday evening at an intersection in Riverside, according to a local news source.
The deadly pedestrian accident was reported at around 7:45 p.m. Monday, February 15, at the intersection of Jurupa Avenue and Essex Street.
Authorities said a man was hit by a silver Subaru Impreza that was traveling westbound on Jurupa Avenue.
The man was reportedly lying and standing in the roadway prior to the accident.
Man Hit, Killed by Vehicle in Riverside Monday
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found the man lying down in the roadway unresponsive. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Subaru driver did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the scene, heading westbound towards Van Buren Boulevard.
Authorities blocked Jurupa Avenue between Essex and Florence streets while they conduct an investigation.
The name of the deceased person has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
