San Diego, CA: One Hospitalized after 3-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 8, January 6

San Diego, California (January 7, 2019) – One person was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision allegedly caused by heavy rain on Sunday morning in San Diego, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened at about 5:15 a.m. January 6 on Interstate 8.

CHP said three vehicles were involved in the collision. One driver told the officers that heavy rain caused him to crash.

At least one person was transported to a hospital for treatment. The person’s condition was unknown.

Meanwhile, Interstate 8 was shut down temporarily as crews worked to clear the scene.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
