At Least 1 Severely Injured in San Diego Crash on Interstate 5 at Old Town Avenue

San Diego, California (February 19, 2021) – At least one person was seriously hurt in a traffic collision involving a tow truck Friday afternoon in San Diego, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash involved three vehicles and happened at about 1:36 p.m. on southbound Interstate 5 at Old Town Avenue.
The report said the driver of an Advantage Tow truck was changing a tire when, for unknown reasons, another car crashed into the truck. A third car was also involved in the collision, but there were no details of how that happened.
Firefighters responded to the scene to help the motorists.
At least one person who suffered severe injuries was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Firefighters said one of the drivers might have been drinking before the crash.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
