San Diego, California (April 19, 2019) – Two people were seriously injured Tuesday night in a head-on collision in East County, according to a local news report.
The wreck happened at around 9:35 p.m. Tuesday, April 16 on Wildcat Canyon Road near Barona Casino and involved two vehicles.
As per the report, a 32-year-old El Cajon woman was driving a Ford Thunderbird in the northbound lane on Wildcat Canyon Road when she allowed her vehicle to drift across the double yellow line and collided head-on with a Lexus IS operated by a 52-year-old Irvine man
The force of the impact caused the Ford to flip onto its roof and trapped its driver while the Lexus came to a stop on its wheels in the southbound lane.

The 52-year-old Irvine man was transported to a hospital with major injuries and the 32-year-old El Cajon woman also sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.
The names of the patients and their current condition were not immediately disclosed.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
