73-Year-Old Bicyclist Gravely Injured in Barrio Logan Crash at Main Street and Interstate 15 Off-Ramp
San Diego, California (March 29, 2019) – A 73-year-old bicyclist was struck and gravely injured by a vehicle early Friday morning in Barrio Logan, according to police.
The accident happened at around 4:30 a.m. Friday, March 29 at Main Street and Interstate 15 Off-Ramp.
Police said the man rode his bicycle into the path of a Ford F-150 just as a traffic signal turned green for the Ford that had stopped at the southbound Interstate 15 off-ramp to Main Street.
As the Ford entered into the intersection, it hit the bicyclist.
Bicyclist Hit by Vehicle in Barrio Logan Friday
Paramedics responded to the scene and took the bicyclist to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. A 60-year-old man, who was the driver of the Ford, was unhurt.
The crash remains under investigation.
