Man Killed in San Diego Pedestrian Crash on Palm Avenue near 16th Street
San Diego, California (April 27, 2019) – A man died in the hospital after a hit-and-run accident that happened Thursday evening in San Diego, according to authorities.
The crash occurred at around 8:45 p.m. April 25, on westbound Palm Avenue near 16th Street.
The San Diego Police Department said the man was crossing the street diagonally when a car driven by a 35-year-old woman hit him. The man went over the hood of the vehicle and was thrown to the ground.
The victim was seriously injured and taken to a hospital but, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries.
The identity of the victim was not released.
The driver was last seen westbound on Palma Avenue with a vehicle described as a maroon SUV with front-end damage and a broken headlight. The driver later contacted the police saying she hit something.
The name of the driver was not disclosed, and no arrest has been made.
