Salome Godinez Killed in Fairfield Car Crash on Abernathy Road near Andrews Lane

Fairfield, California (March 20, 2021) – Marcos Manuel Guzman was arrested after a hit-and-run car accident that left a 60-year-old Fairfield man dead last week on Saturday in Fairfield, authorities said.
The accident happened at around 9:45 a.m. Saturday, March 13, in the 4400 block of Abernathy Road, just north of Andrews Lane.
Authorities said Salome Godinez, 60, of Fairfield, was driving a Honda ATV on Abernathy Road when, for unknown reasons, he was hit by another vehicle driven by Guzman.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found Godinez lying down on the roadway.
Godinez was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measures performed by the responding paramedics.
Guzman did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the scene. On Friday, Guzman was arrested and booked into the Napa County Jail for felony hit-and-run and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
Further details about the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
