55-Year-Old Woman Killed in Sacramento Pedestrian Crash on Sunrise Boulevard at Highway 50 On-Ramp

Sacramento, California (January 21, 2021) – A 55-year-old woman was hit and killed by a vehicle on Thursday morning in Sacramento, authorities said.
The deadly pedestrian accident transpired at about 5:43 a.m. on Sunrise Boulevard at Highway 50 on-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the 55-year-old woman was running east across the lanes of the southbound Sunrise Boulevard on-ramp to Highway 50 westbound when a 2018 Subaru, driven by a woman, struck her.
As a result of the collision, the female pedestrian was reportedly thrown onto the roadway. She was allegedly not in a crosswalk at the time of the crash.

Sadly, the female pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
More details about the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
