21-Year-Old Man Killed in Sacramento Crash on Business 80 near American River Bridge
Sacramento, California (July 3, 2021) – A man was killed in a crash between a vehicle and a scooter rider in Sacramento early Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident happened just before 3:04 a.m. on Business 80 near American River Bridge.
A 21-year-old Sacramento man was riding a scooter in the area when he was hit by a Nissan Altima traveling northbound on Business 80.
The driver told authorities that a figure appeared in front of them and the vehicle struck it.
The driver stopped and upon noticing that it was a person, the driver called the authorities.

CHP said the scooter rider died at the site of the accident.
The identities of the involved parties were not immediately released.
The accident is under investigation.
