Ryan Davis ID’d as 1 of 2 Killed in Inglewood Crash at Hillcrest Boulevard and Glasgow Avenue
Inglewood, California (May 1, 2021) – Ryan Davis, 27, has been identified as one of the two parties who were killed in a Wednesday night traffic accident in Inglewood, authorities said.
The deadly accident occurred at around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, in the area of W. Hillcrest Boulevard and S. Glasgow Avenue.
The incident began when California Highway Patrol officers spotted a blue Dodge pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed on surface streets. The driver, 42-year-old Gustavo Ruelas Jr., allegedly ran a red light while getting onto the 405 Freeway.
Ruelas Jr. continued on 405 Freeway, and the CHP officers attempted to pull him over. The suspect failed to yield, prompting a chase.
The pickup truck then exited the freeway onto Manchester Avenue and traveled at a high rate of speed along surface streets. As the pickup truck turned onto Glasgow Avenue, it slammed into the side of a white sedan driven by Davis.

Davis and his female passenger, Asia Gonzales, 22, were trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated by firefighters.
Sadly, Gonzales was declared dead at the scene of the accident while Davis was taken to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Ruelas Jr. fled on foot but was arrested by the officers. Ruelas Jr. was booked into jail on felony DUI and several other charges.
Police closed the intersection of Hillcrest Boulevard and Glasgow Avenue while the investigation took place.
No further details about the crash were immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
