One Person Killed in Oakland Crash on Interstate 880 near 66th Avenue Exit
Oakland, California (May 1, 2021) – One person was killed in a Saturday morning traffic accident in Oakland, authorities said.
The deadly accident occurred at about 4:30 a.m. on Interstate 880 near the 66th Avenue exit.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Honda sedan and a van collided in the southbound lanes of Interstate 880 in unclear circumstances.
First responders arrived at the scene and found a body lying in the roadway.
Sadly, one person was killed in the accident.
Traffic on the roadway was stopped due to the collision. As of 7:00 a.m., all lanes of the freeway were reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
