Ryan Cantrell Injured in Fatal Car Crash on Highway 36 E in Red Bluff

Red Bluff, California (December 9, 2020) – Ryan Marshall Cantrell, 26, of Red Bluff, has been identified as one of the two parties who were seriously injured in a Wednesday morning traffic accident that killed two other people, authorities said.

The deadly single-vehicle accident happened at about 8:15 a.m. on Highway 36 E, just north of Tuscan Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2017 Ford Fusion, driven by Cantrell, was traveling southbound on the highway at a high rate of speed when it veered off the roadway and crashed into a ditch.

As a result of the collision, the Ford went airborne and struck a tree.

Sadly, a 32-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman both from Los Molinos sustained fatal injuries in the accident.

Cantrell and one other passenger in the vehicle sustained major injuries and were taken to Mercy Medical Center in Redding for treatment.

Cantrell was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and released to the hospital.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
