Victim Killed in Palmdale Head-On Accident on 50th Street at Avenue N ID’d as Ruben Cuentas
Palmdale, California (January 7, 2020) – 32-year-old Ruben Cuentas of Littlerock has been identified as the male victim killed in a head-on collision that took place on Monday morning in Palmdale, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The fatal crash happened at around 9:35 a.m. January 6, on North 50th Street at East Avenue N.
Authorities said Cuentas was traveling northbound on 50th Street East in a 1989 Lincoln Town Car at approximately 50 miles per hour when he allowed his car to serve to the left into the southbound lane for unknown reasons.
The Lincoln then crashed into a 2013 Subaru Legacy that was heading southbound on 50th Street East.
Ruben Cuentas Killed in Fatal Palmdale Head-On Crash
Cuentas died in the accident. The Legacy driver, Eleni M. Gross, 25, of Palmdale was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment of severe injuries.
32-year-old Cherise R. Cole of Littlerock, a Lincoln passenger, suffered critical injuries due to the crash and was also transported to Antelope Valley Hospital.
It remained unclear if alcohol or drugs contributed to the accident.
An investigation is ongoing.
