Roseville, California (April 4, 2021) – One person was killed and another was critically injured Sunday afternoon in a single-vehicle traffic accident in Roseville, authorities said.

The deadly crash, which was reported at about 4:00 p.m., happened on Woodcreek Oaks Boulevard.

According to the authorities,  a vehicle was traveling in an unspecified direction on Woodcreek Oaks Boulevard when, for unknown reasons, the car drifted into the center divider and hit a tree.

Emergency responders took both occupants of the vehicle to a local hospital, where one was pronounced dead, and the other was in critical condition.

The name of the deceased victim has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

Both lanes of Woodcreek Oaks were shut down for several hours while the investigation took place. Motorists were asked to seek alternate routes.

The accident remains under investigation.
