61-Year-Old Robert Sawaya Killed in Coachella Car Crash on Interstate 10 near Monroe Street
Coachella, California (September 9, 2019) – A 61-year-old man was killed in a traffic collision on Sunday evening in Coachella, according to the CHP.
The wreck happened at about 2:50 p.m. September 7, on Interstate 10 east of Monroe Street.
CHP said Robert Sawaya, 61, was riding in a 2017 Buick SUV traveling eastbound on I-10 when he was involved in a crash with 2005 Ford Focus.
The impact caused the Buick to overturn.
Robert Sawaya Killed in Coachella Car Crash
Sawaya was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the CHP.
