Long Beach, California (September 28, 2019) – The man who was struck and killed by a big rig on Wednesday morning in West Long Beach has been identified as Robert O’Brien, 55, of Long Beach, according to the Coroner’s Office.

The crash was reported at about 10:35 a.m. September 25, near Anaheim Street and Santa Fe Avenue.

Police said O’Brien was walking westbound on the sidewalk of Anaheim Street when he entered the roadway and was hit by a tractor-trailer heading east on Anaheim Street.

Robert O’Brien Killed in Long Beach Pedestrian Crash

O’Brien was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the big rig stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

The crash is under investigation.
