14-Year-Old Modesto Girl Killed in Riverbank Bicycle Accident on Claribel Road near Roselle Avenue
Riverbank, California (February 17, 2021) – A teen bicyclist died after being struck by a vehicle early Wednesday morning in Riverbank, according to a local news source.
The accident was reported at around 2:30 a.m. on Claribel Road, just west of Roselle Avenue and east of the Crossroads at the Riverbank shopping center, authorities said.
According to the authorities, the 14-year-old Modesto girl was struck by a Mazda sedan on Claribel Road. Another teen who was walking with the bicyclist reportedly fled the scene after the accident.
Deadly Bicycle Accident on Claribel Road in Riverbank
The girl died in the accident. Her name was withheld pending notification of her relatives.
The involved driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with the police.
Police said the girl’s family was not aware that she had been killed in an accident and had filed a runaway/missing-persons report concerning her at 7:30 a.m.
The accident remains under investigation.
