Man Killed in Richmond Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 80 near Barrett Avenue
Richmond, California (February 9, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed Monday afternoon in a traffic accident in Richmond, according to a local news source.
The deadly crash occurred at about noon on February 8 on westbound Interstate 80 near the Barrett Avenue on-ramp.
The California Highway Patrol said a man, believed to be in his 60s, was riding his motorcycle on Interstate 80 when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of the bike and crashed on the roadway.
The man was ejected from the bike and died at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of his relatives.
The westbound on-ramp was closed due to the accident.
Authorities believed speed played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
