DUI Suspect Killed, Man Seriously Hurt in Hemet Crash on State Street near the South Village Loop
Hemet, California (February 28, 2021) – 58-year-old Reef Crimson, who is suspected of driving while intoxicated, was killed in a head-on collision that happened Saturday afternoon in Hemet.
The crash also left another driver seriously injured.
The Hemet Police Department said the incident happened at about 3:20 p.m. on State Street near the South Village Loop.
Authorities said Crimson was heading north in a Ford Mustang when his car veered into the southbound lanes and collided head-on into an oncoming Ford F-150.
Crimson, a resident of Hemet, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford was extricated by firefighters and taken to the hospital with severe injuries. The driver is expected to survive, as per authorities.
Officers said there was evidence that alcohol or drugs may have been a factor in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
