Woman Killed in Redwood City Hit-and-Run Accident on Woodside Road near Sequoia Avenue

Redwood City, California (January 26, 2021) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Saturday evening in Redwood City, according to a local news source.
The deadly crash happened at around 5:52 p.m. Saturday, January 23, on Woodside Road, just south of Sequoia Avenue, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to the authorities, the pedestrian, a 73-year-old woman, was hit by a vehicle for unknown reasons on the roadway.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found the woman lying unconscious on her side in the eastbound middle lane of Woodside Road.
The medics performed life-saving measures on the woman and took her to Stanford Hospital, where she was declared deceased.
The driver of the vehicle involved did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the scene. There was no description of the suspect’s vehicle or driver.
Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run driver.
