Ramses Gonzalez Arrested after Deadly Hesperia Car Crash at Mariposa Road and Main Street

Hesperia, California (November 1, 2019) – A man was arrested following a deadly traffic collision that occurred last month in Hesperia, according to the authorities.
The crash happened in the area of Mariposa Road and Main Street just after 8:00 p.m. October 12.
Authorities said Ramses Gonzales, 26, of Rialto, was driving a 2002 BMW 3 series westbound on Main Street approaching the intersection when he ran a red light and T-boned a 1994 Honda Accord driven by Marcelino Cabrera III, 46, of Hesperia, who was heading north on Mariposa Road. The impact pushed the BMW into a large palm tree at a business parking lot.
Cabrera was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Gonzales was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center in critical condition.
Authorities later arrested Gonzales at his home on October 17. He was charged with gross vehicular manslaughter, DUI causing death, and driving on a suspended or revoked license. He was being held at the West Valley Detention Center on a $250,000 bail.
The authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
