Ramona, California (October 2, 2019) – A -53-year-old woman was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle in an alleged hit-and-run accident Wednesday morning in Ramona, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

The crash was reported at around 6:15 a.m. on state Route 67 near Dye Street.

The CHP said the bicyclist was hit by a black Ford Edge on state Route 67 for unknown reasons. Due to the impact, the female party was knocked off the bike, leaving the bicycle stuck in the SUV’s front grill.

The bicyclist sustained severe injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital. However, at this time, the name and condition of the victim remained undisclosed.

The driver of the vehicle involved did not stop to render aid and fled the scene. The suspect’s vehicle was described as a Ford SUV.

Further details were not immediately provided, and the crash remains under investigation.
