73-Year-Old Man Killed in Ramona Pedestrian Crash at Main and 7th Streets

Ramona, California (February 27, 2019) – A 73-year-old Ramona man was hit and killed by a pickup truck while crossing the road in Ramona Tuesday morning.
According to the authorities, the accident happened at about 9:40 a.m. February 26, at the intersection of Main and 7th Streets.
As per the report, the accident occurred when the victim was struck while crossing Main Street in a marked crosswalk by a Ford F-150. The driver of the Ford was identified as a twenty-seven-year-old Ramona man.
The victim suffered critical injuries and major head trauma as a result of the crash. The man was airlifted to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, where he later died.
Alcohol or drugs were not suspected to be factors in the crash.
The California Highway Patrol is carrying out an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
