3 Severely Hurt in Ramona Car Crash at Dye Road and Lansdown Lane

Ramona, California (March 6, 2019) – Three people were reported to have sustained major injuries in a traffic collision involving at least three vehicles in Ramona Tuesday afternoon, according to a local news source.
The multi-vehicle collision was reported just after 4:30 p.m. March 5, in the area of Dye Road and Lansdown Lane.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when a Subaru was sideswiped on Dye Road by a Mercedes sedan, which was suspected to have been moving at a high speed. The Mercedes then collided head-on with a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.
The driver of the truck, a 74-year-old man, was trapped in the wreckage as a result of the crash. The victim was extricated by the paramedics along with fire department officials. The elderly man sustained major injuries and was hospitalized at Scripps Mercy Hospital for treatment.
The Mercedes driver, identified as a 56-year-old Poway man, suffered serious injuries. He was airlifted to Palomar Medical Center.
A third party identified as a 53-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Pomerado Hospital.
The alleged speeding driver was suspected to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, according to CHP.
No further details were revealed concerning the wreck.
