Saratoga, California (August 13, 2020) – Raffaella Brunello has been identified as one of the five people who were injured Wednesday night in a fiery three-vehicle crash that killed one person in Saratoga.
The deadly crash happened at about 11:20 a.m.Wednesday, August 12, at the intersection of Saratoga Avenue and Highway 85.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white Tesla crashed into the back of a Toyota Sienna on the freeway for unknown reasons. The minivan spun out after the impact.
The Tesla then traveled down the off-ramp and collided with a gray pickup truck at the intersection. The Tesla caught fire as a result of the collision.
Saratoga 2-Car Crash at Highway 85 and Saratoga Avenue
One of the occupants in the Tesla, David Alan Brown, 75, of Saratoga, was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Two people in the pickup and another occupant in the Tesla were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the minivan, Brunello, and another person were treated at the crash site for minor injuries and released.
Traffic on Saratoga Avenue was stopped in both directions due to the accident. The off-ramps from Highway 85 to Saratoga Avenue were also closed.
