Quyen Luu Killed in DUI Car Accident on 22 Freeway in Garden Grove
Quyen Luu ID’d as Person Killed in Garden Grove 22 Freeway Crash near Magnolia Street

Garden Grove, California (January 7, 2019) – The person who was killed early Sunday morning in an alleged DUI crash that also injured one person in Garden Grove has been identified as Quyen Luu, 55, of Baldwin Park, according to authorities.
The horrific crash was reported at around 1:00 a.m. Sunday, January 6 on the 22 Freeway, just west of Magnolia Street.
Authorities said for an unknown reason two vehicles collided on the westbound 22 Freeway. One person was trapped in one of the two vehicles.
Firefighters along with paramedics responded to the scene and rendered aid to the parties involved including Luu.
Luu, who was a passenger in one of the two vehicles, was then taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange in critical condition and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The other victim was also transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
One of the drivers was uninjured and was given field sobriety tests before being placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
