Pilot Dies in Porterville Plane Crash near Porterville Municipal Airport
Porterville, California (June 7, 2021) – A pilot was killed when a single-engine plane crashed Monday afternoon in Porterville, according to authorities.
The deadly crash happened at about 2:30 p.m. near Porterville Municipal Airport.
Authorities said the plane, described as a single-engine Vans RV-6A, had just taken off from the airport when it went down near one end of the runway and caught fire.

The pilot died in the crash. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the cause of the accident.
