Port Hueneme Wednesday Morning Hit-and-Run Accident near Ventura Road and Teakwood Street Kills 1 Person
Port Hueneme, California (October 1, 2020) – The Port Hueneme Police Department is investigating the circumstances that led to a fatal hit-and-run bicycle collision early Wednesday morning in Port Hueneme.
Officials responded to the crash site at approximately 5:30 a.m., September 30, at Ventura Road and Teakwood Street
As per the dispatch, an individual riding a bicycle was struck by a silver sedan while attempting to cross eastbound on Teakwood Street.
The sedan was reportedly travelling north on Ventura Road at the time of the collision.
The sedan motorist did not stop to render aid and fled the crash site.

Sadly, the bicyclist was declared dead at the scene of the accident.
Meanwhile, approximately one hour later, the driver returned to the scene and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. The suspect was charged with homicide and was booked Ventura County Main Jail on a $500,000 bail.
