Martinez, California (January 28, 2021) – A 53-year-old Pittsburg man was killed Wednesday night in a single-vehicle traffic accident in Martinez, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The deadly crash, which was reported at around 8:12 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, happened in the eastbound lane of State Highway 4, just west of Alhambra Avenue.

A Lexus sedan reportedly veered off the roadway and rolled over. As a result of the collision, the driver was ejected from the vehicle.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and found the driver suffering from major injuries. The patient was transported to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name was withheld pending notification of family.

It was not immediately clear whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
