15-Year-Old Skateboarder Killed in Pico Rivera Crash on Paramount Boulevard and Slauson Avenue
Pico Rivera, California (January 11, 2020) – A boy riding a skateboard was on Friday afternoon struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Pico Rivera, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The collision occurred at about 3 p.m. January 10, on Paramount Boulevard and Slauson Avenue.
A 15-year-old boy was riding a skateboard across the road in a crosswalk with three others when a box truck struck him and fled the scene.
Boy Killed in Pico Rivera Skateboard Accident
The boy was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities later located a truck and driver suspected to be involved in the accident. The driver, only identified as a 58-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run.
The crash is under investigation.
