Man in His 70s Killed in Imperial Beach Crash on 9th Street near Ebony Avenue
Imperial Beach, California (January 11, 2020) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Imperial Beach on Friday afternoon, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
The deadly accident took place at about 12:09 p.m. January 10, on 9th Street near Ebony Avenue.
Deputies said a man was trying to cross 9th Street when he was hit by a northbound vehicle driven by an 84-year-old woman.
Man Killed in Imperial Beach Pedestrian Crash on 9th Street
The victim was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The victim was only identified as a man in his 70s.
The driver stayed at the scene after the crash and reportedly cooperated with the investigators.
Alcohol was not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
