Several Injured in Petaluma Crash at East Washington Street and Payran Street

Petaluma, California (July 26, 2021) – Several people, including a juvenile, were injured Friday evening in an alleged DUI crash at an intersection in Petaluma, police said.
The collision happened just before 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 23, at the intersection of East Washington and Street Payran Street.
According to the police, three vehicles collided at the intersection. Details on what led up to the crash at this time are unknown.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and provided medical aid to several parties. One of them, a juvenile, sustained a cut on their head.
Investigators determined that one of the drivers involved, Herman Alvarado, 31, of Petaluma, was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
Alvarado was ultimately arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of probation violation, driving with a suspended license and felony DUI.
