Salinas, California (March 1, 2019) – A woman was possibly injured in a rear-end collision early Friday morning at a Salinas intersection, according to a local news source.

The two-car accident happened at an unknown time at the intersection of Highway 68 and Laureles Grade.

As per the report, Peggy Johnson, 82, was driving her car when for an undetermined reason she crashed into the back of another car at the intersection while attempting to turn right onto Laureles Grade and swerved to avoid a bicyclist.

Johnson was evaluated for injuries at the scene.

As of 8:00 a.m. traffic was backed up to three lanes on the highway.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
